I'm with John, I was stunned and pleased his contribution to music has been recognised.

Like Forever Changes that first Velvet Underground album was one of the few I have bought that really blew me away, especially side two. And like Forever Changes it still does.

Love them both. Sir John Cale now....but like Arthur, relatively unknown to the larger masses....to bad for them! Graham has had his day...for decades, but good to see him recognized so.

Congratulations to fellow Mancunian Graham Nash for this. But I've often wondered, since Canadians are also eligable for these particular gongs, why Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young have never been similarly honoured.

Lightfoot to my knowledge doesn't have one. john's point about Canadians being eligible is true but I've read that Canada kind of wishes that the Queen doesn't bestow the honor. Still it doesn't mean that Canadians can't get it.
