For me, the best of the BYRDS is the Gene Clark era, though I love their later stuff,
they are just not the same without him. But then the world is not the same without Gene.....RIP.
Here is one of my favorite Gene Clark tunes ....monumental...play it loud!
(The Eagles and all those country rockers owe it all to Gene. Bernie Leadon
played with Dillard and Clark before The Eagles and it was a part of his
formation as a songwriter....so much Gene's influence.)

| Back when i just didn't about Clark as much as I do now. A magnificent songwriter and I have to say the Byrds would have been crippled a bit without him at the time. He surely was the musical "soul" at the time. |

It will be the same as Black Beauty--High Moon Records. Don't know when to count on either one. Gene's has been delayed due to legal battles to get rights, in Europe. I believe it has been resolved. It is going forward...later than sooner it seems. John Einarson writes the liner notes for it also.
Remember High Moon Records is a brand new label and sometimes it takes a while to get things started. But their first two releases couldn't be better...Love & Gene Clark!
I don't know what if any bonus tracks will be included.

| ok lk I j'ined up on High Moon...thx for the heads up..and you know I think that GC deserves one of those BIG compilations of his great work. He's one of the diamonds in the whole song universe. Might cost a coupla bucks but will definitely be worth it for such an artist. |
