Just finished the great bio by Michael...again. Insights in the form of a BIO from each remaining LoVE member sure would be nice....Johnny? Snoop?
I asked Michael if the rumored reprint this summer was true. He said it was to be in July, with a new Epilog and more photos added....
WAS is the key word....
Unfortunately, the publisher has been told they no longer have the right to use the LoVE logo on the cover...at least that is the issue. Ed The Freed's thoughts were-- you would think if anyone had the right to use the name it would be Love member Michael--at least for a book ABOUT LoVE, mostly. The publisher feels the Logo is a major marketing tool and attention getter, so it has been put off for now.
Too bad. Those who would have bought both these books together (along with the new Einarson bio) at sites such as amazon, are missing out on a major piece of the Love story.
Let's hope it gets resolved and we see a newly revised and improved release of Pegasus Carousel...soon.

There are some great anecdotes in MSW's book...my favorites are the biker dude friend (calling Arthur "ART") and some of those encounters with other famous residents of Laurel Canyon. Any favorite bits from Pegasus from you all?

It reminds me when Arthur blocked David Housden from using the LoVE logo on the cover of his publication, the Castle, and he had to hastily put together another cover!
It was an early issue. He seems to have used it after though, curiously..
You never picked up an issue did you LK? 
Interesting story from PCarousel.. well, maybe when Arthur grabbed that guys camera at the Hullaballo or wherever it was..
In later years of course he would take to smashing cameras, not to mention picking fights with audience members. The more times change.. |
