Joe
I hope you don't mean "Hocken Hey" by Shack (well not Shack but Michael Head and the Strands - which were probably Shack if you know what I mean) Its the closest thing to "Cockney" I can think of for Shack!!!
I'm probably confusing people but I do love that song |

I don't know.. not so good
Well, I like Shack, like I said always a good band but I guess not the sort of act who would be popular in the US? The fact that they worked with Arthur in the early 90's, when, let's be honest, his profile was pretty low, cannot be underestimated as I really think their support got Arthur back in the frame of mind of working with a band again which (apart from the spell in gaol) was fully realised when he teamed up with Baby Lemonade. |

I love just about everything Mick Head and his brother John have ever done, from the Pale Fountains to The Red Elastic Band, I think Mick is one of the greatest songwriters of recent years.
There's (at least) 2 songs that reference Arthur directly as well, 'And Luna' on 'The Magical World of the Stands' and 'Byrds Turn to Stone' on 'Here's Tom With The Weather'.
They obviously love Love as well -- the interview with John on the Love Story DVD is wonderful -- that bit when he says he named is little boy after Arthur, it makes me go all gooey. |

Yeah, what's happened to Shack? Not heard anything about them for so long. Their website is gone! and there has been no activity on their myspace site for over a year!!! |

Well, Shacknet seems to be working (sort of, it seems to be being transferred to another domain or something at the moment). It seems that John Head played a gig at a cafe in Liverpool last week.

And here's a list of gigs played by the pair of them this year, sadly not together so, maybe, they've had a falling out?

Thanks Caryne, yeah it's a big worry that they've gone their separate ways or something. The forum on shacknet doesn't work! |
