I notice that I'm really attuned to them. The riffs give you a taste of what's gonna come... Any favs?...For me, I like those early notes in "It's all Over Now" by the Stones, and of course the opening to 'Alone Again Or'..And well those Rickenbacker notes from 'Turn Turn Turn', 'Won't Get Fooled Again'..remind me of some others I should listen in on....
The beautiful yet menacing acoustic intro to the Stones' Play With Fire. And also the lengthy dulcimer passage at the beginning of Joni Mitchell's All I Really Want.
the Steve Cropper guitar starting "Sweet Jane" on Lou Reed's "Rock and roll animal".
the first few seconds of " It's all too much" by The Beatles. -The daily planet -the red telephone -stephanie knows who -orange skies -seven & seven is -the castle
..excellente..over the weekend when i have soem time i'm going to take a listen to those you mentioned..I have them in my head but I'm going to go to the source...and lk with those bass lines with HOTRS.kind of reminded me of their "It's My Life" opening...the booming bass riffs going and then the lead echoing those notes..nice sound....and I'll add Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower".love that song....

Love the Animal's. I sang and drummed (in my high school garage band) HOTRS, It's My Life AND my favorite...We Gotta Get Out of This Place!
Couple more...."Hung Upside Down" and "Rock and Roll Woman"! "Hung Upside Down" has to be one of the finest rock songs ever. Iconic.
