Thanks, john, I will get the two 180 gram Fairport LPs.

Rocker.....Tim Buckley is my all time fav along with Gene Clark...can't pick between those two.
Here is "Dream Letter" from Happy Sad....an absolute must-have LP..so good
This link gives us a bunch of Tim's tunes that I love......Once I Was, Love From Room 109 At
The Islander, Jeff B's "Grace".....and many others.

Caryne....I think youtube actually helps get the music out there; I don't go there for the
ego-tripping individuals, just a way to see many live performances & LP tracks that introduce
me to many artists I might have missed....or to revisit or share a favorite song.

&..... Once I Was......probably my favorite (I keep trying to get one that works right....OK)

God bless our soldiers & get hem home safely from a pointless & bloody war.........
Vote November 4th...the end of an error!

I just picked up 3 brand new 180 gram LPs: "What we...Holidays", "Unhalfbricking", "Liege & Lief". So good. Not many such perfect LP trinities by any artist(s). (Laura Nyro is one other)

On the Four Men With Beards label...they do a perfect job on reproducing the original covers
& the pressings are flawless!!

Swarb hasn't played regularly with Fairport for a vey long time - Ric Sanders has been on fiddle duties for close on 25 years. Swarb has his Lazarus project with Maartin Allcock and Kevin Dempsey, but did join the band onstage at Cropredy in 2007.

Current Fairport line-up is Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, Gerry Conway, Chris Leslie and Ric Sanders. They tour the UK every Winter as a rule and often go Stateside as the four piece 'Acoustic Convention' without Gerry Conway, or even as a trio, without Peggy.

You havn't heard much Cohen??? You havn't lived, one of the greatest songwriters to have ever existed, imo. Asking where to start is an impossible question but I guess a compilation is as good a place as any, this one's got some great stuff on

Compilations are good, caryne, but I would go with "Songs Of..Leonard Cohen" as an intro to his most famously dark & introspective songs...Suzanne, So Long Marianne, Sisters of Mercy, every track is a "greatest song " masterpiece!!! But then, I steer away from compilations in general, because I like to hear the music as originally intended by an artist. Best of's usually annoy me, if only because with any artist that I like, I usually have their original individual releases.
what do do you think, caryne? ....."Songs of"? Rock on, rocker!!

Two great ones from Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson........so different, and in a way, so much deeper, & better than anything the Beach Boys did......rocks harder & sings with more beauty & feeling......."Thoughts of You" can make even a strong man cry......

For those who still haven't "discovered " Judee Sill, please give this a listen. I'm sure you'll seek out her music after a listen to this & her other songs there on youtube.
