I was reading yesterday that Neil Young will be getting out the first batch of the "archives" out shortly on blu-ray, dvd and cd and download. The blu-ray is quite pricey...$300+...anybody to get it?

WELL, hell ya! Not Blue-Ray....... But I've heard "soon" for so many years....I'll believe it when I see it!
I really do hope so!! I even have the slick from my "Sugar Mountain" CD that says coming SOON from 8-10 months ago.......I'm still hoping. What's the link?

Well it's out....anyone agree with the CNET review that it's a monumental rip-off?!!

I have the three recent CD & vinyl releases so this really disappoints. The teaser that I got in the Sugar Mtn. CD didn't reveal I would have to buy it again if I wanted the new Vol. 1 ten disc set....$60 for ten CDS or $250 for 10 DVDs OR $350 for ten Bly-ray box....come-on.

I love ya Neil but COME ON!!!

I find these days with box sets that I just don't have time to listen to them. Instead of paying out a king's ransom for this latest package, I shall schedule long overdue listening sessions for Neils' first four (and in my view, best)albums. Now, if Warner were to remaster those and include the relevant bonus material then, as Macca might say, "that would be something".

Right. john & rocker!! A couple of the DVD included just show a TT or tape deck spinning endlessly while playing Neil's tunes. I didn't mind with Sugar Mtn. having the extra DVD with just Neil in a snowy scene, but for the boxed DVD set $$$ I expect film footage or something! The interactive links are pretty clunky too...so I'd likely go with the CDs if I didn't already have the latest 3 individual Archive Series releases. I guess it would include the bonus inserts etc.

I'll just listen to my Massey Hall LP.....and journey through the past!
