| ....this is very early stuff..regarding early things, I found out Arthur wrote those songs "Everybody Jerk" and "Slow Jerk" (I guess after time he spent w/ the 4)..I've never heard those songs..... |

Mine just came in the post this morning! Took a while to get here, but boy was it worth the wait. Great demos and a great story on the back cover from Johnny, much of which he told (and elaborated on) in his "Just another day in the life" stories, over on the Freedom man's site.
Having just read the sleeve notes, In my opinion, because it's not that clear, Jacobsen left to go to college before the name changed to Grass Roots, so it must be Conka on drums? Or it could be Roland Davis who Johnny says played on the "record" (but which one?) because Jacobsen couldn't make it to the studio that day. See what I mean? Confusing or what? Maybe Johnny himself might clear things up himself for us one of these days. |

Just to add to the liner notes point of Love Story. The picture which says Don Conka is, as far as myself and David Housden could tell, wasn't Don. The line-up it shows has Mike Stuart and the person called 'Don' is in fact Kenny and Mike incorrectly labelled Kenny.
