Western Ocean, seas of foam Carry me out and take me home Up the sound and past Ardmore To the land of grain and silver shore Wherever in the world I stand I feel a strength, a guiding hand. My inner compass sets for me A course that's heading for Tiree Western Ocean, seas of foam Carry me out and take me home Up the sound and past Ardmore To the land of grain and silver shore The low-lying isle of mach air land Of rugged sea and silver sand Summer's deep nostalgic smell Eternal song of ocean swell. Western Ocean, seas of foam Carry me out and take me home Up the sound and past Ardmore To the land of grain and silver shore I'll smile as from the world I go The days of home forever glow. I'll sail my final journey West And voyage to eternal rest. Western Ocean, seas of foam Carry me out and take me home Up the sound and past Ardmore To the land of grain and silver shore

Skipinnish's exciting release "Western Ocean" carries on where "Atlantic Roar" left off... on the crest of a wave.
Since the release of the hugely successful "Atlantic Roar", Skipinnish have been working hard preparing the material for their next recording.
The album is a wild blend of old and new Skipinnish, reflecting the traditional style set by the band's early records but with the high-energy addition of the younger members.
Includes songs composed by Angus and Robert, and ripping tune-sets along with some well known classics.
Western Ocean available now from Music Scotland... enjoy the sail!
Skipinnish: Angus MacPhail (accordion, backing vocals), Andrew Stevenson (small pipes, highland bagpipes and whistles), Robert Robertson (lead vocals, guitar), Ross Wilson (piano, electric bass, upright bass), Alasdair Murray (drums, percussion, highland bagpipe), Archie McAllister (fiddle).
Guest Musicians: Duncan Nicholson (highland bagpipes, uilleann pipes, whistle), Rachel Walker (vocals), Allan Nairn (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, banjo, mandolin), Allan MacDonald (tromb), Alec Dalglish (guitar), Stevie Burns (pipe band snare).
"There's a certain expectation about a Skipinnish release that you're going to get a mixture of cracking tune sets and songs, either in Gaelic or English, which range from sensitive to anthemic. This album certainly doesn't let you down on any of these points, or on any other, come to that." Gordon Potter, The Living Tradition
