100 Greatest Artists of All Time
The only problem with this list is there is NO LoVE....they should be in the TOP TEN for sure. And many OF MY favorite artists are left out completely...but RS's ignorance or exclusion is excusable as many of my faves are rather obscure to the general public...and it is Rolling Stone Magazine staff who pretty much bow to the masses nowadays. But the TOP 10 are pretty spot on....who can argue with those picks?
1 Beatles
2 Dylan
3 Elvis
4 Rolling Stones
5 Chuck Berry
6 Hendrix
7 James Brown
8 Little Richard
9 Aretha Franklin
10 Ray Charles
The write ups by various artist/fans such as Elvis Costello on the THE BEATLES, Robbie Robertson on DYLAN, and so on are quite good reads in themselves.

Very good..they're the creme de la creme. I take it RS only focused on rock artists there. Curious if ALL musicians from all musics were looked at. Was there a poll that looked at that? |
