Seems to be a focus on material from the albums with Tork & Nesmith - hence no Changes material (thats the one with Davy & Micky on the cover, and their most bland album) or anything from The Monkees Present (without Peter) for instance |

Posted - 15/11/2012 : 18:49:55 Right you are about Manson. I was listening to a radio podcast recently and the fellow interviewed was telling a story about how he was getting an autograph from Mickey D. and the two were chatting some and he said that Mickey told him that as a joke he started the Manson auditioning for the Monkees rumor from long ago and that Mickey was sorry that the whole thing took off as an urban legend. Be careful what you say, any future rock stars

Wonderful group of songs that spans a good spectrum of their career (although I would have liked it if maybe they slipped in a few more Instant Replay/Present/Changes songs). How they would manage to present songs like "Daily/Nightly" and "Porpoise Song" in concert intrigues me greatly as they were essentially studio songs.
The faux Sgt. Pepper cover is a trip and really funny (although I could do without Charlie Manson glaring at me).

Yer welcome, underture; yeah the Manson pic is disturbing, as always, but he WAS a part of the history of the times and Laurel Canyon....nothing is all good...as we all know here, the history of Love, The Beach Boys, even The Beatles, and many others of the day, are tainted with an association, however small, with that evil man.
But LoVE & music conquers all!
