My favourites are Gentle Giant (formerly Simon Dupree and the Big Sound)and early/mid period Genesis...down to Trick of the Tail. Gentle Giant did very much better in America than here in their homeland. Here is Aspirations from their 1974 offering The Power and the Glory. The lyrics could almost be straight out of Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan...which of course well suits their early music influences:
