I think the oddest news I have ever heard was when Dave Mason had joined Fleetwood Mac
And it wasn't that the album he was on (Time) was bad (in fact, Chris had a few good songs, and Mick even wrote one about his hero the (Peter) Green god
but it was so odd - Dave had always been very much his own man; on early Traffic albums, it did not seem that he really played on other band members tracks, and he left Traffic several times in fact, before Stevie left that band for the short lived Blind Faith
