Posted - 29/11/2011 : 14:08:20 I recently picked up a special issue by RS, 'the Ultimate Album by Album Guide'. I think it's pretty good. Great photos and some good write-ups on each of the songs from all the albums. One thing's for sure, the Beatles pushed themselves on with each release. |

Posted - 01/12/2011 : 21:36:33 As noted before, I'm listening again to all the songs and with "new" ears. heh heh really everything sounds better NOW! What is going on? ... "A Day in the Life"..... I don't think we can call it simply a "pop" or "rock" song. It's on another plane.... |

In doing this of course, they continually challenged (and occasionally shocked) their audience and expanded the frontiers of popular music no end. Perhaps only Dylan came close to matching them in that. |

Posted - 30/11/2011 : 14:06:26 You know I listen to the songs as I read the comments especially on how the songs are made up. You get some great insights into that Beatles "sound". |

Yes, that is a great issue to add to the library.
