Roger always said he was trying for in music what he heard in the sounds of the "space/JET age'....that shwoosh sound of the jet engines!

Some great sounds were made, borne of the space age & inspired by the BYRDS!!

BYRDS, Jefferson Airplane, LOVE, Buffalo Springfield....

A band that came too late and just couldn't get there...competing with the UK's New WAVE in the mid to late 70's. But they could rock....and Tony Poole is the Rickenmaster, even according to Roger M.!!!!

This one really soars. The title of the song and the music seem to be one. Note McGuinn without the glasses and goatee.

Thanks for reminding us of these, LK. Two moments of pure genius from early Love. I first came across Softly To Me when I bought Love Revisited (on the Elektra butterfly label) in '71....Love's debut had been deleted in the UK by then. I bought Da Capo a few months later largely on the stength of the fact that The Castle was not on Revisited.

So forget this cruel world

But if one day you should see me from your cloud
lend a hand and lift me
Away from the crowd.
