Chet Atkins has called Mark the best, cleanest guitar player ever.
He is definitely in my top five ever!
I have enjoyed Dire Straits, and then Mark Knopfler solo, since 1978....
the first album is in my headphones now....brilliant!

I've always held great respect for Knopfler.His pickings and lyrics always exemplify a wonderful sense of empathy for the every man delivered in a breeazy somewhat jazzy style.For some strange reason therein,George Benson popped to mind."Money for Nothing" is tantamount to working class hero anthem. |

I was just listening to some stuff by him..he can play!..I really liked his Golden Heart album...his playing is so melodic on those great riffs... |
