Covered so many times over the years, Jesse Colin Young's classic is one of my all time favorites from Elephant Mountain. Such a brilliant album.

Here is JESSE doing his own in 2009...if possible, better than the original studio track!!! So much heart!

Right Markk...I was floored to see and hear Mr Young...I didn't recognize Jesse at first (I doubt my old friends would recognize me after 40 years either!). It starts so quietly and builds so powerfully...one of the best uses of a fiddle on a rock song.

Beautiful.

I highly recommend finding if you can (try the download at AvaxHome.blog).....

The Youngbloods-Beautiful- Live in San Francisco 1971

It is a really great tight live recording...at their peak!!
The soundboard sounds as good as a studio production or BETTER!!

He does a wonderful version of "COuntry Home" from his Song For Juli LP....well they are all PERFECT!

DD and Ride the Wind were my two fave YB songs.
DD made me think of some Southern, mystical, Celtic rite being performed in the swamps of the bayou by some backwoods witch.
The drone and the fiddle added to the effect. Remakes were pretty lame IMHO.

Ride The Wind is still a trip, eerie! Love it so!

Any live show experiences back in the day? RW?
