Anybody like that kind of music? I initially heard a little of the style from Flaco Jiminez's accordion in 'Man in the Fog' on the Burrito deluxe record. Great beat going on in there and in that whole style of latin infused music...

Arhoolie (have they released a bad album?!). Great respect for the art of music, they have issued a 40th anniversary collection (in 2000) with such greats as....

Lightnin' Hopkins, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson (sp), Big Mama Thornton backed by Buddy Guy, Jerry Hahn....

a six disc box of pretty good music I would say.

Can't say I am totally aware, but once I ressearched it, I gotta say, yeah....
I'VE ALWAS loved it. Incorporated into the music of the bands we love.
A great tradition of music. Freddy Fender was one of
first to make it known to the wider masses as EDDIE CON LOS SHADES...how
cool is that?

Any music that incorporates accordion is alright with me...but it is played without it too.

LOS LONELY BOYS, of course incorporates the style along with other latin styles. A favorite of mine.
I treid to find one of theirs to play, but here is a live one by them,
a GREAT three piece band
that everyone should see..Los Lonely Boys....it just rocks with Latin flavor.

Any other bands influenced of note, you'd like to mention, rocker?

Small Texas label Arhoolie Records was an early one that treasured such music. Of course,
Arhoolie has also recored such greats as Lightnin' Hopkins, and today jazz guitar
great, Jerry Hahn.
