Posted - 06/06/2010 : 22:24:24 ...the top LP with Ultimate Spinach...is a great choice.
Love's FC is at #5...some really interesting choices here..some that got me pulling out som elost classics. HP Lovecraft. Great music for sure. Balaklava! Oh yeah! "Waiting For The Sun" is an interesting choice...I love it!
Do you agree? What's missing? Well, "Electric Music For the Mind And Body" is an obvious omission!
Hendrix? The Baroques?

Nice to see Ultimate Spinach getting remembered though. First three albums are very good, in particular. |

Hendrix? The Baroques? Electric Music For The Mind And body..now
there is RECORD ALBUM. The sound on those early Vanguard lp's was truly top notch for the era. Super clean pressings of such well played music was almost operatic to my young ears. I still have my original copy and it still sounds like I just popped the cellophane. I saw them at a BE-In in San Jose California right when the lp came out and they were terrific.

So you saw Country Joe? Nice! I was in SF in '70 and left Berkeley just before the riots. I headed for the redwoods and camped in paprdise for w while!

Posted - 06/06/2010 : 23:25:22 The Glass Harp is an amazing psych band that did NOT make this list, but SHOULD HAVE. Trust me on this one! Here are two free mp3s from their site--great tunes from 1967, not a bad year in music!! ...they are still together, again.
