This Country Joe album was one of the first Psychedelic forays to come
out of SF and one of the best out of...anywhere.

Along with Blues MaGoos psychedelicizing the East Coast...two bands that
embody a full musical experience...mind and body....they had it all.

DOORS & Love out of LA...

What music does this for you and if you were there, is there any one (or
three ) that still take you there?!!

If you weren't lucky enough to "be there", what takes you "there", to
a 60's place in your mind where you sometimes feel you would like to be...

Hey, LK and everyone. Haven't been around much but I like to check in once in a while.
That's amazing, to come in here and see "Electric Music" mentioned. Just the other day while operating some noisy machinery (the only time it's safe for me to sing) I was singing "No-So-Sweet Martha Lorraine" to myself -- it came out of nowhere! -- and I haven't heard that album in decades.

Tedhead, I'm with you on Surrealistic Pillow, but you can't leave out "She Has Funny Cars."

I wasn't there, but for psychedelic forays...I love early Floyd. Sure, Syd ripped off "My Little Red Book" in order to write Interstellar Overdrive, but there were some fantastic songs from that group.

The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators is an amazing album. This band was out of Austin Texas, and Roky Erickson is still around making music. I got to see him twice within the past year.

Surrealistic Pillow for the San Francisco scene, although my fav songs are the non singles. Today and DCBA-25 are just unbelievable. The guitar solo on DCBA-25 is just so emotional.

The first Grateful Dead album has a straight ahead garage sound and feel to it. The band didn't care for it, but I love it. its very "Nuggets", which is not very Dead-like. About as punk as they ever got. Has my fav version of Morning Dew by the band.
