Posted - 07/01/2005 : 00:46:12 It's a new year, let's look forward. What's your prediction for the next (seriously Good) thing in music?
My old man says it'll be a Jazz-based thing.
I think lyrics will become very important this year - at least thay'll start listening again.
El says it's the knowing references
so what's getting onto your ipod?

Posted - 01/02/2005 : 02:06:48 Check out Calvin Russell. A legend in Europe[and Austin Texas]where he's been playing sold out concerts for years. Signed by Sony he was busted at the airport on route to England for the start of a major tour. Never did get to see him. Check out his cd's- Dream of The Dog, Sam, Soldier, Sounds of the Fourth World etc. You'll be real glad you did! |

Posted - 14/01/2005 : 16:33:16 I don't have an ipod, but I do listen to music probably 14 hours a day! Right now, I'm listening to Beny Golson's "New York Scenes". As you all may already know, I'm a huge jazz fan, so I listen to jazz for 13 of those 14 hours, but I listen to Love too and the Red Hot Chili Peppers because my younger daughter, the musician, turned me on to them--and they are GREAT!! |

Posted - 08/01/2005 : 10:40:20 Old broads. Nancy Sinatra issued a brilliant album end of last year which is currently permanently in my car CD player - Kate Bush is putting out a new album shortly - if only the late lamented Dusty Springfield was still with us! |
