I'm not really the biggest Grape fan, but this is pretty cool!

Think Vintage is only available on import

Maybe Katz blocked it seeing release in this
country?

Does Moby Grape still play live? I have some
video of the Miller band (thank you Marc Skobac!)
and they SMOKE

hard to go wrong with playing the first MB album
live of course - some years back they were playing
the whole album live here in NYC, which
they had never done previous

thanx, TJ! I hadn't seen any video of MG until that!
one of my alltime bands.
hey.....MG Fans , check out , at the same video page as link, the Grape playing live(not lip-synking) on the Mike Douglas Show!
He squarely introduces the band as, " THE MOBY GRAPES"!

...what the world needs now...

Well, not "last" (they did a LOT of reunions, with
and without Skip) but you know what I mean

Good liner notes as well by Fricke. One of the few
places you can hear the first album NOT as a vinyl
transfer put out by Katz (San Francisco Sound)

Is it OOP? Sounds like a great mix.

... all are must-haves for me...self-titled first LP is a MUST in any collection. One of the best debuts of all time.

What is on Vintage, Joe? The double vinyl Sundazed that came out this year is great....live cuts + demos + alternate takes.

Thanks...LOVE the Grape! When Buffalo Springfield played in SF, Moby Grape guys went crazy over Springfield and assimilated quite a bit of the Buff sound. Stills and Co were pretty pissed when they heard Grape's first new release, but everything was cool and they met again....no hard feelings but Springfield was the cutting edge of a totally new sound and the FIRST (a full year before Byrd's Sweetheart) with their country rock "Go and Say Goodbye" single in '66. A lot of bands were greatly influenced by Springfield thereafter in LA and SF.

One can definitely hear the country rock/blues sounds of Springfield in Moby Grape's early and later works and they have no problem giving credit to the Buffs for their inspiration...

Two amazing bands!!
