Poor Innes really got ripped off on those songs he
wrote for the Rutles album. I don't think he got a
cent actually.. |

the inventors of the mockumentary genre!!!Spinal Tap gets all the credit for being first,but Eric Idle,Innes and co were much earlier! I have have seen the Rutles at least 15 times,and it gets funnier for each time!! |

Taking up the tale: Dick Jaws, an unemployed music publisher of no fixed ability:
"I liked the trousers right away. I'd been in the garment trade myself and knew a thing or two about inseams, and these were clearly winners. The Rutles themselves had many advantages: they were young, keen and above all very cheap, so I signed them up for the rest of their natural lives. Lucky really." |
