Alone Again
Posted - 07/05/2009 : 13:35:16 I recently found a great 17 part documentary series called All You Need Is Love made by Tony Palmer from 1975. I'm only two episodes in, the first was just an introduction to the whole series. It explores the roots of popular music starting in Africa tracing the roots of black music and goes through Jazz, Blues, Rock and Roll, R&B and Soul, Country, Rock etc. Each episode focuses on a certain gerne. Theres plenty of great old and new (for 1975) interviews and performances from Dylan, Beatles, Bo Diddley, Clapton and many more. Some of the sound editing is a bit dodgy at times mainly during interviews. Its up to watch for free on 4OD if you can use 4OD I would strongly recommend it. Think you can buy it on DVD too. Has anyone else seen it?
