Are there really three albums as brilliant as the mighty Forever Changes? Ummm....just free-associating, I would say...

Sly Stone- There's a Riot Goin' On

Jimi- Electric Ladyland

Dylan- Blood On the Tracks.......whew!

3)KAK-psychedelia SF band with Gary Lee Yoder of the later (2)Blue Cheer LP's-the mellow, trippier stuff. Check it out if you can find it!

2)Fred Neil -"Fred Neil" with Dolphins , & Everybody's Talkin', & a 7+ minute acid/rock raga
considered possibly the best ever recorded; predating the acid/rock movement by several
months

1)Laura Nyro -"New York Tendaberry"...intense, raw, sparse instrumentation (forget any
covers by Fifth Dimension, 3 Dog Night, Streistand etc....this pure, raw emotion)

hmmmmmmmm....and 300 years from now....who will they be singing and preachin'? Shakes or the "Song and Dance" man..

let's go...
"The festival was over the,the boys were all plannin' for a fall
The cabaret was quiet, except for the drillin' in the wall
The curfew had been lifted and the gamblin' wheel shut down
Anyone with any sense had already left town
He was standin' in the doorway lookin' like the Jack of Hearts"
(B. Dylan)

Stone: Exile on Main St.
Beatles: Revolver
Byrds: Mr. Tambourine Man

although it's hard to imagine a world without Electric Ladyland, or any of the Dylan albums metioned...

Michael..I'd add in "Bringing it all Back Home"..I'll play devil's advocate here by saying arguably without that album from Dylan no FC would've existed...at the time he was the "folkie" gone revolutionary and took rock to another time and place...

The Wall - Pink Floyd (although at least another 3 Floyd albums could be included);
Transformer - Lou Reed
Rumour and Sigh - Richard Thompson

blonde on blonde...my fave dylan album, wins hands down

Actually, of the Dylan cannon perhaps only Blonde On Blonde or Highway 61 is worthy of standing up to the mighty FC, I dunno. I fluctuate depending on the ol' mood.
