buddy miles was the drummer from the band of gypsies and the electric flag. His solo stuff is awsome a perfect blend of soul and psychedelia. If you ever get a chance to find the record "buddy miles live" you have to get it the song "the segment" is just mindblowing and his version of neil youngs "down by the river" is too
oddly enough he ended up as a singer for the california rasins must be something about drummers ringo did thomas the tank engine hahha |

Posted - 09/04/2007 : 01:09:08 Ah, I love The Electric Flag. What a fantastic outfit they were. Truly wonderful. I like Blood Sweat and Tears and early Chicago, but for me The Electric Flag had them all beaten for that horn-rock sound.
Got a great boot of them from the Carousel Ballroom. They smoked. Miles was a fantastic talent, and Harvey Brooks was a magnificent bassist. Great band.
But yes, that's a top clip of Miles in action. Not seen that one before.
