Posted - 27/01/2007 : 22:06:46 Sugerman was a superbly lucid writer. That being the case, his own favourite rock biography by another author deserves more attention. It was 'Nico, Songs They Never Play On The Radio', by James Young, about her later years and adventures. I chanced upon it in a charity shop a few years ago, not having heard of it previously. The best 50p I ever spent. Reading it will make you wee yourself with laughter, wince and cry by turn. Check out the reviews on Amazon. If you love Danny's stuff I reckon that there's a pretty fair chance you'll love this too. I can't recommed it highly enough - really. It wold mae a SUPERB film. 'Withnail' class. When I first got it, I picked it up and read it from cover to cover. Couldn't stop. That good. Sold? |
