Posted - 04/05/2005 : 03:01:55 Thanx so much, Trippy! I finally saw the footage...WOW! What a pleasure to see Johnny and Arthur on stage together again. It's amazing what JE can do with a guitar.

Posted - 24/04/2005 : 13:19:39 OM, you were at the gig? Good one wasn't it? Glad you enjoyed the clip. I'll stick some more snippets come time.
FF- If you're running IE, then try going to your "security" settings and enable "active x" components. I'd jot down your current settings, then enable, and then once you try and play the clip IE 6.0 will automatically install the codec. Thereafter, I'd go back and set your security settings as they were originally. It worked for me.

Posted - 24/04/2005 : 00:29:07 Thanx, OM, but it didn't work for me! When I got to the part about using Japanese and told to insert CD-ROM for Windows XP, which I did, they couldn't find the file to open...
Possibly over my head technically??? Maybe I'll have to wait for a clip that originates here in the States!
thanx again

Posted - 23/04/2005 : 23:18:30 I have Windows XP Home Edition...and I've tried to download several files, but still keep getting the message that I need an audio codec format tag 45. The only one they list is in Japanese. Can anybody steer me in the right direction? I'd appreciate it.
Thanx -- and LOVE and PEACE to all

Posted - 23/04/2005 : 21:59:37 Hey thanks for that trippingflags, especially the Lemon Tree clip of Arthur introducing Johnny, and him playing Arthur's Gibson SG behind his head (because he broke a string on his the song before) Great reminder of a great gig!
ps. I had to download the right codec first. I use windows 2000 pro. |

Posted - 22/04/2005 : 21:20:12 ok..hope this link works. This is a clip of Love at Edinburgh's Queen's Hall ('04)complete with strings section et al. It was filmed right at the back of the hall and so any camera shake is exagerated somewhat. But "hey" it captured the maestro at work.

Posted - 15/04/2005 : 17:22:54 I think musicians (actually I know) find it very annoying to have someone yelling at them when they are trying to focus and do their art. It's very, very difficult to be a musician, artist, performer and singing is particularly hard. Audiences should not be shouting out at the performers to perform certain songs or any of that. It is SOMETIMES ok to speak to the person personally before or after the set and make a request and the vocalist can decide in an unpressured situation. To have someone yelling out at you, or thrusting pieces of paper at you is a BIG no-no. |

Posted - 15/04/2005 : 14:11:08 Hi all, I was at the Lemon Tree gig. great stuff. Highlights being Arthur's "banter" - Arthur fair shot down the doric hecklers - and Johnny Echols over-back-of-head guitar solo (of which I hope I can post an mpeg of it here soon).

Posted - 15/04/2005 : 00:13:04 Actually over the last 3 years of gigs I've come to feel that Arthur in fact feels unsettled or even threatened by people shouting out for songs etc, and that it adds to his overall insecurity.
What do others think ? |

Posted - 14/04/2005 : 17:23:29 Yes Aberdeen was a good one, the best of the 4 I've seen this tour, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The great sound quality at the Lemon Tree made the difference I feel, even standing right at the front! Arthur got real angry with a woman at the Lemon Tree when he was talking about Don Conka being dead, she shouted out "Yeah in 1999!" He told her to shut the f*** up!. Arthur seems to like a bit of sparring though, 'cause he had a go at a guy in Glasgow too for always shouting out. Hiya Hannah, I think you know me, I saw you there with your dad. Glad you're getting into Love, and that you enjoyed the gig so much. |
