Posted - 02/12/2005 : 09:14:33 I was listening to Neil Young's Mansion on the Hill tonight, and I was picturing Arthur doing a jaw-dropping encore with ol' Neil, harmonizing together.. "There's a Mansion on the Hill/ Psychedelic music fills the air/ Peace and love live there still.." What covers or duets would you like to hear 'em do?

Posted - 05/12/2005 : 04:42:00 Yeah, I know what you mean, tmittelstadt..When you got The Castle and Your Mind and We and You Set the Scene as ammo, it is kinda hard to think of any worthy covers. Big Eyed Beans From Venus by Beefheart would be a trip.

Posted - 05/12/2005 : 03:27:18 Cool thread. It got me thinking. I was pondering which different song I'd want to hear Love play. Then I realized, at this point, I just want to see Love play again! |

Posted - 04/12/2005 : 03:38:21 Whoa, Love used to cover Play With Fire? I gotta find that Snoopy interview. There's a fascinating interview Snoopy later did with Barney Hoskyns, and here's a pretty heavy quote: "I couldn't play drums worth a **** when I joined Love, and I was even worse when I left...I mean, I got through that time with those ****ing heavies-they were so ****ing heavy with all their heavies that I got heavied out, man, and instead of improving over two years I regressed..I mean, there were some really heavy scenes went down there, man."

Posted - 04/12/2005 : 02:12:07 A kid in one of my HS music classes brought in a new rap CD that samples GSH's "Home is Where the Hatred is". Some powerful ****. I used to listen to GSH in the 70s, what a soulful voice. I read that he was homeless and addicted to crack a few years ago, hope he gets it together. |

Posted - 02/12/2005 : 21:37:41 Big fan of Gil Scott-Heron, Allan. I was just listening to Winter in America the other day. I'd love to see Gil and Brian Jackson reunite when Gil's straightened out his personal issues, okay, drug problem. I think he's been out of jail for a while. When he's on, he's soul magic (like our kid.)

Posted - 02/12/2005 : 20:12:53 And where did Neil get that from ? Hank Williams Sr. of course ! Anyone on this list who has not checked out Hank should drop what they are doing and buy some of his music right now. Just think of a combination of Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan and you'll get the picture.
