It's the perfect album to listen to on a late summer's afternoon. I also think it deserves to get recognition beyond the usual Love circuit. |

Posted - 02/09/2004 : 22:28:51 I bought Mike's album yesterday. It's not really my sort of thing, and it's only had a couple of plays. I'm going to be brutally honest here. This is my current opinion. There are a couple of really irritating things: drum machines are bad, they don't sound like someone playing the drums and it stands out to me, and the organ parts sound more Klaus Wunderlich than Ray Manzarek. However, I love the song about sushi built around the Organ lick from, which Specials song is it?? The odd guitar break might have broken things up a bit and changed the dynamics more to my taste, but of course sitting on your barstool with the blues doesn't involve cranking out solos right left and centre....... |
