1st of, is this record worth getting? Because I have been looking for it for ages now, as I am a big fan of "Four sail". Also where do you find this? I seem to have no problem finding "false start" but I can never find this!
The other Love record I want to ask about is "love live" the one with MacLean on. Again, pretty much the same questions?

No, not kidding at all. I love the rawness of the sound, and Arthurs vocals, In fact I get shivers down my spine everytime I hear it!

But we all have different tastes

I'm with OM on this one, at least as far as recordings go. some of the live performances of DC have been absolutely brilliant.

Keep on shining

Out Here is like a lot of "double albums", if it were culled down to a single one, esp leaving out drum solo (zzzzzz) but leaving in long version of limtw, would probably be along the lines of 4 sail.
Love live with bm is ok but sounds like it was recorded in a shower.
Studio/live would be a good choice you get part of out here and some live too. Also 11-23-70 if you want all live.

Keep an eye on this site. In a quick glance just now I see they have "Out There", which is almost the same. http://eil.com/shop/artistlist.asp?artistname=love

I LIKE "I'LL PRAY FOR YOU","LISTEN TO MY SONG","ABALONEY" AND "DC".THOSE ARE ALL PRETTY GOOD SONGS AND WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR LIVE..

I agree with all the above comments, especially the observation that Out Here is worth having though "patchy" (hope you like drum solos, LOL!). Ah, well I'm not quite sure I like the Signed D.C. on there better, but it sure does rock out. My favorites on it are I Still Wonder, Willow Willow, and Gather Round, all of which are on the Studio/Live LP (one of the best things about the S/L LP is the version of Doggone with the loooong drum solo removed).
I saw at least two copies of Out Here up for auction on ebay earlier today, with low bids.
Good luck, Jon

Out Here is a bit patchy but nonetheless still a good album to have.
And there are some really good tracks on the album.

One thing I liked was the feel or the level of Arthur Lee's rhythm guitar which gave it a nice live feeling , even though its not live.
There are some interesting songs on the album and a range in style too.

I'll Pray for you is a good gospel flavoured pop rock song and Love Is More Than Words is on the psych button.

Patchy as I said and ok not as much finesse as Four Sail but still a good album.

Out Here has enough interesting moments, and great AL vocals, to make it worthwhile. However, Four Sail is far superior. I read that all/most of the Four Sail and Out Here tracks were recorded at the same time, and Elektra (who was owed 1 more album at the time) picked the cream of the crop for Four Sail. A lot of the stronger Out Here tracks are on the studio half of Live/Studio, which is *well* worth getting if you don't have it.
