Posted - 19/03/2013 : 16:10:15 Thx for this stewart. I wanted to go through all the above but needed to make some time for it. Good stuff. So after reading I thought I'd bring out some of the remarks which jumped out for me. Here goes:
* "A very good record" * "It's like a musical trip through an art museum" * "Very nice for a hangover. Makes me feel alive again. To remember what it is to die" * "It is the album for the ages. It knows no time, it knows all time" * "Arthur Lee! At war with the LA police and in love with all existence" * "The most perfect rock album masterpiece" * Still too complex for alot of people looking for simple pop songs. The Hippies missed it preffering all sunshine and love. It was too dark for the Summer of Love, year it was released" * "..my last words to the world" (Lee) * "..a black guy writing show tunes" (Maclean) * "This album brought me to God" The reply was: "God brought the album to you" * A 50 year old album can't become hipster. People become hipsters not albums"
