Spin are stating a release date of 9th September for Black Beauty. No mention of bonus tracks, though.

Right Dukie...for music lovers and especially LoVE lovers....
ESENTIAL, yes.

So ANYONE UP FOR THE VINYL pressing?

That is what really excites me!! A brand new never released vinyl pressing of Black Beauty! That would be a first press vinyl, in effect!! Not a re-issue like on Sundazed!

very cool!

BTW...Record Collector gives it 4 out of 4 stars.
Very nice to see contemporary reviewers appreciating & praising our LoVE!

Record Collector have a review online:
http://www.recordcollectormag.com/reviews/review-detail/7403

In the just published magazine it's reissue of the month, only one featured on the first page of the review section with a colour photo of the band, review and short interview with Joe Blocker, maybe the same as Goldmine's?

Joe says Arthur paid for it out of his own pocket months before any talk of a deal with Buffalo

"And Paul Rothchild contrary to popular belief did not produce that record. There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding Black Beauty."

In answer to the question How significant was it that this was the first black Love:

"The titles of all Arthur's records mean something...when he decided he wanted an all black Love he called the record Black Beauty. He was a musical chameleon. He wanted to get more of the funky R&B music he grew up with into what he was doing. That's why we played very few old songs. He would say "I'm not Forever Changes. Forever Changes is a part of me."

Answering the question Arthur was never exactly career minded was he?

"If it were left to him all Arthur would do was write his songs, go into the studio, record them, come back home and feed the dogs...."

Release date on the High Moon website is now August 30.

I'm not holding my breath

Theres a promo cd for Black Beauty/Two Sides to every story (Gene Clark) up on eBay for $50 - the tracks on that from BB:

Beep Beep
Young & Able (Good & Evil)
Can't Find It
Lonely Pigs

I see it coming out stateside in December - bets? I haven't seen a release date for it in Record Collector magazine, certainly
