I bought this bootleg CD at my local rock music store figuring it was worth a listen. The acoustics are poor but that doesn't bother me. The music does. Every song Arthur is screaming, over singing, almost screeching or trying to drown out the band. It is really horrible. Songs with beautiful soft melodies, he is screaming the vocals. The band is also very poor. Does anyone know who was playing with him at this time. Is this why they didn't tour, because they were not a good live show?
Very disappointing.

thank Christ. He was able to go out on a high note after the indignity of JAIL!

Great great shows - live with the brass and doing the best album in the world. The only tragedy of course is that he took so long

His voice sounded pretty good when I saw him with Baby Lemonade in 2003-2005. No screaming at all, just powerful melody. I was not disappointed and he was almost 60.

I was thinking the other day that I always wonder why Arthur's voice only sounded good till the first half of the 70's.After that, he seemed to have lost it.In my opinion that is very fast, he was still young then.Did he perhpas ruined his voice with all the screamin'?

I've heard that it was Lee-Fayad-Tarwater-Poncher. But the second half of 1970 seems to be shrouded in mystery as to who was in and out of the band at any particular time. You're right though - it is very far indeed from being Love's finest moment! A link to a download of the concert was once placed on this site - that's how I heard it. If Gary Rowles' comments in the CD booklet for False Start are anything to go by, Arthur was well out of it by this time. I'm a big fan of the 1968-69 period........but not of this.
