There will be released nest month, the first two albums by the 'Phlorescent Leech and Eddie'....Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan who had fronted the Turtles during the 60s and then the Mothers during 197O-71. The lead guitarist on the first of these was Gary Rowles and I am sure that this was his first post Love venture. I've never heard either work although they do apparently command some repect amongst critics. 'There you sit lonely' - which had previously been recorded, but not released, by the Turtles in 1969 is in my book, the definitive West Coast love song. Details:

And thanks for your tip, Ruxprncd. On the strength of what you have said, I have decided not to wait for the March 17 UK release date and have just ordered a cheaper import copy from Amazon US. I can remember reading sometime in 1973 or 74 about a concert they did around Christmas time. To their apparent surprise, they were joined on stage at the very end by Joni Mitchell - for a reverential rendition of 'Silent Night'.

John, thanks for the tip! The Flo & Eddie albums are already out here (USA) - I just received mine. I had no idea who these guys were, or that there was such cool music associated with the Turtles. Both albums are masterpieces.
