in that Beavis and Butthead movie, there is a fantastic scene in the desert drawn and animated by Rob Zombie! GEEZE IS THAT COOL!!!!!!
the Simpsons has its moments of real mind blowing psych with that one where Homer eats a "hot chile"! then ther's that 3d episode whwere Homer is in the computer grid . great stuff! and animation is maybe the only way to go to convey the experience!

...what the world needs now...

I don't know..maybe if you see the Adventures of Baron Munchausen
and Koyaanisqatsi when you're under a few different bodily "processes" we'd get an idea of what "psychedelic" is too...;-)...

Not really "psychedelic", but a good sixties-oriented movie is The Sweet Ride, starring Michael Sarrazin and Jackie Bisset, about a bunch of people drifting through life in a California (of course!) beach house, trying to figure out what to do next. Moby Grape is in a brief night club scene. Was a staple of the mid-day TV B-movie scene at one time. Unfortunately, not on DVD or video that I know of.

I've got Zachariah on DVD,picked it out of a bargain bin..for £1.49

Only bought it cos i realised the James Gang were in it,and theyre probably the best parts of the film.although Country Joe n the Fish are quite amusing as a dope smoking gang of cowboys.

Zabriskie Point is great. Awesome soundtrack. Relevant content for its time

Speaking of Antonionni (Zabriskie Point), I also like 'Blow Up'. The ending scene is so cool, with a Beck / Page Yardbirds line-up. Rumor has it that this scene really never took place, as different scenes from different gigs were edited together.

'More' soundtrack of Pink Floyd happens to be my favorite Pink Floyd tracks.

Speaking of Westerns, in 1971 a film touted as The First Electric Western was released. It was called 'Zachariah'. A very young Don Johnson is in it. It has a very good soundtrack, with Country Joe and the Fish, Doug Kershaw, and the James Gang.

Let's not forget 'Ciao Manhattan'. The tragic story of Edie Sedgwick. There is some great footage of 60's times in NY...Warhol, etc.

Here's some lost footage of the film

Lastly, there is a film called 'Elvira Madigan'. A bitter-sweet true story, Elvira Madigan came from the famed family of tight-rope walkers.
A tragic love story, but the content and the photography were very much a product of the times. A very flowery-love film.

Not much out there on the web about this film, but I did find this

I enjoyed these two immensely, but in Psych-Out, I have to say this... I mean I am a fan of Jack Nicholson... but never do I recall seeing anyone look so unlikely, holding a guitar.
Is it just me?

If you liked El Topo, you might appreciate The Holy Moutain (directed by Alexandro Jodorowsky, as was El Topo).

Another weird and psychedelic western is Blueberry, a.k.a. Renegade - US version. A French film with Juliette Lewis as the leading lady. Also more or less in this vein is "Dead Man" starring Johnny Depp.

"Altered States" is interesting, sort of Carlos Castaneda (very loosely) type of thing. Good visual sequences.

"More." The soundtrack of which is Pink Floyd's third album is a cool film, though mostly smack-oriented and a sad true story.

And the late-seventies concoction by the outrageously funny Firesign Theater's "J-men Forever" is essential. Total B-flick stoner hackage and not really psyche, but you will LYAO. Essential.

No idea if any of these are being torrented anywhere, but probably available on dvd if you dig.
I want to get Riot on Sunset Strip sometime, never seen it. Found a single source web-wide once, but haven't grabbed yet. Chocolate Watchband is in it. I bet some here have seen it?
