Posted - 05/08/2006 : 22:28:58 On Friday I was attending a huge all-day art exhibit here in Copenhagen. Some time in the middle of the afternoon a disc jockey who had been hired to play jazz records of an artsy nature, suddenly put on Alone Again Or. I was astounded as I had never heard it played anywhere - in clubs or anywhere else. I talked with the young guy, who was a Love a fan.
That night when I got home I saw on the net that Arthur had passed on that day. Neither of us knew anything about it - just a magical and spooky coincidence.
The exhibition continued today and I told him about Arthur and he played the entire Forever Changes for thousands of guests. What a sweet strange previledge to look at good art while hearing supremely beautiful music! |

The third and final day of the art show yesterday. Took my battered 40 year old copy of Da Capo and the young d.j. played various cuts during the day. Orange Skies is perfect as an art show back drop.
The day ended badly for me - major expenditures to rent the stall plus transport- and I sold not a single picture. Packing up was bitter. But as I was walking out the door to the truck with the last picture I heard "Gotta go but save a seat for me."
It made me smile and remember what's important. |

Posted - 07/08/2006 : 00:25:50 Friday evening, after the whole day of thinking about Arthur and his departure, the sun went down and I noticed that there was a very peculiar quality about the twilight outside. I went out to check it out, it was sort of eerie and soothing at once, an unusual glow all around the yard and the woods. I looked up. And the entire brooding cloud cover overhead was emanating a color not often seen in my area at any time of day. We had totally Orange Skies. I thought "wow!" Of course Bryan wrote that song, but still... Then at that point I immediately remembered noticing the 1st-quarter but slightly gibbous moon on Wednesday, the night before his passing. It had had a very reddish cast even though it was pretty high up in the sky around 8pm. I had thought vaguely to myself "blood on the moon," and wondered what the "wives'" significance of that was. ....... Not to put too much into any of this, but I just now remembered that the other day, possibly the same Wednesday maybe the Tuesday before it, I had paused for a moment standing in the middle of my living room and was looking out the sliding glass door into the woods beyond my back yard. Within that short moment a red-breasted robin suddenly flew straight toward where I was standing, hit the glass door, and turned and flew directly back the way it came, without faltering at all despite the blow. I wonder if it got inside someone else's house. "I said I ain't superstitious but..." |

Posted - 06/08/2006 : 20:39:38 On Friday my brother took my mother up to Skye for the weekend. Now he's a DJ and plays "House Music" but he also likes lots of other stuff. As my mother was travelling in the car he only took 2 CD's , one of them being Forever Changes.
While he was travelling I texted him and told him about Arthur , he told me the text arrived literally two minutes after the last track had been played. Uncanny!!! |
