A strange beginning...unspeakable tragedy...

...and a crazy new official soccer ball that seems to have a mind
of it's own.

What a time to test drive a new ball design!!

....

Well well so it's the Dutch and either the Germans or the Spanish in the final. I know the Orange are happy!

sorry ..those refs, eh? That "n0-goal" could've had implications on the match...Those Germans started to crack a bit at one point..
see y'all in 4 years....

Oh Dearie Me

Just not quite there today. But hey we know that the good performances make up for the off days or we wouldn't be here.

At least it's another common link across the North Atlantic.

Meanwhile Glasto on telly continues to live up to expectations and more.

Keep on shining

Bummer! We never seem to be able to beat Germany when it really matters.

Still Germany against Argentina will make a great quarter final in Cape Town next weekend....and so there is no anger, no bitterness. I'm heading off to Holland tomorrow and will be landing in Amsterdam just as the Netherlands kick off against Slovakia...and so I am now tipping the Dutch as dark horses for the trophy.
John9 Posted - 27/06/2010 : 00:15:05
Hard luck, America.....you fought really well against Ghana. I confidently predict that the USA will actually lift the trophy within my own lifetime. I'm really looking forward to England's clash with Germany tomorrow. I just hope that all our supporters are able to honour and respect both countries.

whoa.....we both escape!!!!...and Landon should thank Everton for teaching him how to play in the big games..looks like it paid off...
And Jermaine's a big man now too... ..

Right john....England's too good to pack it in against Slovenia..good luck....you look to get out the funk...and our game with Algeria isn't no slam dunk!...
John9 Posted - 22/06/2010 : 00:25:17

That's a good one, Rocker! Tyburn tree stood at the present site of Marble Arch. I somehow feel that we'll get it together against Slovenia on Wednesday......but if we don't, I can see there having to be another general election!
rocker Posted - 21/06/2010 : 14:04:47
Well I think they need a win eh bobby???? Where's that place where they do executions over there in England? Tyburn something?? That place can be filled up with some footballers pretty soon if no result comes up!!!!! ...

rocker Posted - 14/06/2010 : 21:45:42
very good lizzy..maybe Rob was better by the wickets than in the field????...they say Waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton...wondering perhaps if the world cup can be won on the playing fields of cricket.... football... it can kill ya!...
Lizzyb Posted - 14/06/2010 : 20:02:36
I'm going to summarise the world cup in song titles.

A former colleague spotted the headline:
tainted glove

and decided he could do better:
you give glove a bad name

or:
people of the world join hands watch the glove pain, glove pain

any advance?

Keep on shining
