Posted - 02/11/2008 : 12:12:58 Well, we are eleven games in now (for most)- and a glance at the league table reveals that the top four positions are occupied, as ever by Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. But with Aston Villa (led in my opinion by the League's best manager) playing really well and Arsenal's confidence seemingly at a new low, I just wonder how long the Top Four will keep their monopoly going. Add to all this the fact that my own club, Manchester City, have become supposedly the richest in the world (though as usual, notoriously inconsistent) and you have a very heady mix indeed. I predict - that Liverpool will take their first Premier League title ever (despite slipping up at Tottenham yesterday) and that Aston Villa will oust Arsenal from the Top Four. But I don't expect everyone to agree with me! |

Posted - 04/02/2013 : 15:45:17 Now that's the spirit! Btw there were some great goals in the game, eh? Beautiful stuff by Kunaguero on Reina, that shot was unbelievable. And Gerrards smash was a "cracker" as you guys would say it...two barn doors down wouldn't have kept it out! |

Posted - 03/02/2013 : 21:31:00 Yes Rocker...we were probably a bit lucky to rescue a point like that...you guys were really up for it. We're nine points behind United now....that's one hell of a climb! My whole state of mind right now can be summed up in some lines from that immortal Peggy Lee song:
If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing Let's break out the booze and have a ball If that's all there is

Posted - 03/02/2013 : 21:03:18 john..listen, you could've yelled at Reina in the spirit of good play to tell him to stay the hell between the onion bag, ok?....Good game don't you think with Pool lookin' at 3! |

Posted - 24/01/2013 : 16:52:57 And good luck to us Feb 3! And speaking of honor, I'd have to say it would kill me really and make me lose faith in all humanity if Brendan R is found to be conducting a UK Ponzi scheme with offices in Brighton, Torquay and Cardiff!!!!..........hey I mean lookit Lance, jeez, you never know when it comes to truth! |

Posted - 23/01/2013 : 20:40:15 Yes Rocker - I was mightily relieved to see Dempsey's last gasp equaliser....which of course trimmed United's lead over us to a mere five points. As for the City V Liverpool game on 3 Feb...well I'm sure that there'll be lots of friendly rivalry....as well as an absolute triumph for decency and fairness...and indeed, all that is honourable about soccer. |

Posted - 23/01/2013 : 15:15:39 And for all you Spurs fans out there I was happy that our man US Dempsey banged in the equalizer last week! He needed to do that.
ok john we got a good game comin' up!........ |

Posted - 12/01/2013 : 19:05:41 Yes, that's right. And speaking of the Academy any idea of how I could send a line to Mr. Heighway who used to run their famed Academy? Maybe a note to maybe "in care of LFC?". I have his letter that he took the time to write to me about how to get kids ready for soccer practice. Sure helped out! |

Posted - 09/01/2013 : 09:14:01 Hi Rocker - it really is great to see you back. City seem to have something missing this season - although as you say, second isn't at all bad. I think that our title hopes now depend on United exhausting themselves in the Champions League - and the fact that they have a tricky FA Cup replay against West Ham. I am really pleased to see that Liverpool seem to have turned the corner - by the way, Daniel Sturridge came up through the academy and youth ranks at City. |

Posted - 08/01/2013 : 18:46:37 So J9 are ye happy with City so far? You're up there in the table! Pool with Rodgers is still feeling things out. Things we'd like to see?? Messi to City or Pool or to Spurs or to Chelsea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..... that guy is unbelievable...4x Intl Player of the Year... |

Posted - 08/11/2012 : 14:03:05 Thanks, Underture - yes there were a couple of strange decions. But City have seriously underperformed in the Champions League this year - they still have a great deal to learn from teams like United, Chelsea....and it would seem after their great win over Barcelona last night, Glasgow Celtic as well. Speaking of which, I'm sure I saw Mitt Romney sporting a Celtic allegience towards the end of his presidential campaign. At least he's managed to back one winner! |

Posted - 07/11/2012 : 15:29:00 I caught highlights of the Man City/Ajax match this morning on sportscenter. The officials basically robbed MC of a victory with the phantom offsides and non-call in the box. Oh well, bad officiating is not limited to a single sport, country or playing level.

Posted - 24/09/2012 : 18:45:47 Well john you got a point from the match. I'm sure though a win was wanted! Don't know if you managed to see the Pool/Manu match. Shelvey lost his head and Pool then lost the game later though they had a chance to win when Gerrad put them up one. Rodgers now knows what it means to manage in the EPL. jaysus he still doesn't have a win. There's alot of work to be done. |
