That's a far out story. Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys was also involved somehow with the Manson Family...(maybe even Bobby?). Dennis also recorded one of Charlie's songs...it's really creepy, with the sound of a gong being banged and then played backwards as the intro.

I can certainly understand how Johnny feels. The tragic Tate/LoBianca murders brought about the unraveling of the Peace/Love generation, especially in LA.

As for me back in the East, there was one specific incident that sorta 'opened my eyes' which led to the downfall of the times. I went to see The Stones in 1968 when Beggars Banquet was released. There was a guy with his girl sitting behind me, and he was shooting up...right there in front of 20,000 people. Harder drugs became epidemic, and the pot/hash/LSD was being replaced by speed and H. I too succumbed to harder drugs back then and virtually everyone I knew was going down 'that hard road'. Several of my friends went off the deep end...they are all still in my prayers. It was certainly the storm after the beautiful sunshine [orange ]
