Just before midnight Arthur Lee and Love walk on stage of the Rotterdam Schouwburg. This show, part of the Motel Mozaique Festival, is the only Forever Changes show on the continent and I feel privileged being inside. With some smoke around their heads they start off with My Little Red Book, Orange Skies and Your Mind before the 'pièce the resistance' of the show, Forever Changes with strings and horns!!, is on.

It's all shivers on my spine right from the start! The audience, many well known faces from last years shows among them, gets wild when the trumpet solo in Alone Again Or is being played. The whole FC album is simply done in a briljant way. It doesn't matter that Mike has to plug in Arthur's guitar during Andmoreagain or that Arthur misses some words. The sound is excellent (despite reading about the trouble during the soundcheck). The violins and horns really bring FC alive! The only thing not so good for this show is the fact that people are seated and that it's getting later and later. This is a Grande Finale but most people are tired from two festival days. It doesn't influence the band, they are in great spirits. After "You Set The Scene", Arthur asks what they shall play and a guy in the audience yells out "You Set The Scene", they all laugh. Another yells " Orange Skies", more laughs.

What we get in fact are fine versions of Robert Montgomerey, 7&7Is, Signed DC and Singing Cowboy closes at 1.45 am a memorable night!!
