Oh Brighton!!! You lucky, lucky people!!!
I have so far been to RFH and Oxford shows - tonights gig at Brighton pissed all
over both of them. The crowd were bubbly, happy and vibrant and it was reflected
in Lee and the bands performance as they stepped up a gear and clearly enjoyed
themselves.
Four songs then straight into FC. A few minor sound glitches that even prompted
Lee to halt the band and start again, but other than that it just got better and
better. Hard to pick a highlight but i thought House Is Not A Motel really stood
out tonight. Then there was the magnum opus....without doubt the best version of
Signed DC I have ever heard. Stunning, stunning, stunning. Lee was superb on his
harmonica, teasing and floating. I sincerely hope and will not be surprised if
they use some of the tracks from tonights show for the live album. If not, heres
hoping it shows up on a boot. Set list was pretty much the same as we have heard
thus far though in a slightly different running order of course. (No Stephanie
Knows Who as at the RFH show).
In a rather humourous moment, Mike Randall had to remind Arthur that the Good
Humour Man in fact comes after Live and Let Live, but small matter.
Put simply, a hot show!! Roll on Manchester.
