My Little Red Book

I'll face this day with a smile
Yesterday was the start of the european tour and I'm still smiling and
feeling so good. This was an experince beyond my wildest dreams.
Everything started at the soundcheck where I immediately felt that Arthur Lee was back
with energy, a marvolous voice and a charisma that's almost unbelievable. Everyone in the
band seemed to be feeling good, even after the long trip to Denmark. They rehearsed a few
songs and everything sounded great.
The concert started at 9.30pm with the well know intro to My Little Red Book and already
there most of the audience felt they were into a special treat. Arthur's voice was good
and powerfull at the start, but grew to being fantastic after a few songs. The band, with
the powerfull drums from David
Green, the driving bass from Dave Chapple and the fantastic guitar playing from
Rusty Squeezebox and Mike Randle was perfect backing for Arthur, they really got things
going and one song after another was played like they have been together their whole life.
The songs played was almost the same as at the Kniting Factory, changing the order a
little bit and excluding Que Vida! and Stephanie Knows Who.
It's now almost 12 hours since the concert ended and I can't find words to describe all
the impressions I got during the concer, but I'm looking forward to the concert on
saturday in Randers.
After the show I was sitting in the bar talking to some of my friends and waiting for Mike
Randle to show up and have another chat with him before my drive back home. After awhile
Rusty showed up and talked a little bit and then Arthur came into the bar. He walked
around and after awhile sat down at a table, gave autographs and talked to everyone who
wanted to say something to him. Everything was amazingly relaxed, no hassling to get close
to him or anything. I think he had a good time, he even managed to get me to buy him 2
Bloody Mary's. After an hour or so he said goodbye and went upstairs and I talked a little
bit with Mike and at 1.30am I left Odense after a fantastic day.
Some say that the danish concerts is "warm-up shows", but if this is so, the rest of the concerts will be HOT.
