SnoopyLast Update: 06. november 2003 Snoopy in 1999: Ex-baterista do LOVE à caça de brasileiros. Translation by David Mclean Alban Pfisterer, popularly known as Snoopy, drummer from the original formation of the Love, is in Brazil? and lodging in the home of Lanny Gordin, Brazilian guitar anthologist (?) author of the arrangement of the Fatal show, living off the Gal Coast Insanitiy such as this can only happen in psychedelic environments . Love are one of the most most frequent reference points used by the American journalists to explain the sound tropicalista (marachi/latin-esque?) for the gringos - despite his discs available, never have they been known in this Country and neither the antenados Mutantes will know the band. (?) Chico Science(?), are big fans of the group, who along with Noel Gallagher and Robert Plant. Love arose in 1965, in the environment from the blast of Californian garage bands. under the command of the guitarists Arthur Lee and Bryan Maclean, detached himself from the malta with a hypnotic mixture of folk, blues, soul music and proto punk. Some pictures of the beginning of the group do not show Snoopy. "I had entered and left Love some 15 times, without exaggeration", he counts "In the beginning of the single of Signed DC, already with the definite name, I was the only one with short hair" Between comings and goings Snoopy recorded the first two discs of the group, Love and the mandatory one Da Capo, both in 1966. In the second disc, Snoopy was playing keyboards, not drums. Alban left in the beginning of 1967, before of the launching of another classic from the band, Forever Changes. Arthur Lee continued with Love till 1970 (?), but without the success or the relevance of the period 1966-1968. Year passed, Bryan Maclean died of heart attack, in the day before of the Christmas. "Now I have nothing to do with rock, I do not have a COMPACT DISC player", Snoopy does talk of music. "I heard scholarly music before I joined Love."(?) After he left the band, Snoopy went live in the Mexico with the mother, but continued far from the circuit. "When Bob Dylan went to visit me, my mother would not let him enter, because she did not know who he was", he amuses to himself. Now, in Brazil, he thinks of entering in contact with local musicians for his new "journey", based in Latin percussions and African rhythms. "More interested in a lot things other than rock or psychedelia", he guarantees. "I want to find a singer that can sing with feeling." Snoopy is pleasant and a part of the musical universe. He looks very healthy, in contrast with his colleagues of that generation, some took too much acid, others prisoners by carriage of drugs, others dead. The classic question: is it possible to be psychedelic without drugs? "I don't know, I never tried", before a blast of more laughter.
