Bob Weir,
Bad news and good news.
The bad news: I made an error on the lyrics in my entry for Laughing Stock (DOH!).
The good news: you were alert enough to catch this. I have corrected this mistake. I kept meaning to relisten to it after your post but kept putting it off until last night. Thanks for catching it and Cheers

What a great thread!
Well done underture...
...I've been visiting Torben's site at least weekly for many years, but this song-by-song catalog was so good I had to register.
Wonderful writing.
Kudos. |

You're very welcome and thank you. The nice replies I've gotten and overall feedback/replies have made this a great experience for me, from beginning to end.
A couple of thank you's are needed on my part.
Thank you LK for the encouragement. You definitely had the right read on whether this project would work here.
Thank you Torben for the Forum, without which this (or any other of the subjects here) would'nt have happened.
Cheers

no mention of I Do Wonder first appearing on a mid 70s release on Da Capo Records, then eventually seeing release on the 1980 Arthur Lee solo album on Rhino Records, but other than that a damn fine read I think! |

Slight notation on the "You Set The Scene" entry to reflect the debate on the lyrics of the song.

Thanks to you all for tolerating my indulgence with this project.
Tolerating? I think you can see from the reaction that you've done a fine contribution here. Ever since I can recall when I first heard the band I always felt that they needed their "due" for their contribution to music. After all the years it looks like it has happened. The band has gone arguably has gone from coal to a shining diamond. (but we know the diamond story from the beginning, eh?) |

hey! what about My Diary!!
Echols tells me the song is on record with the Library of Congress as being by Arthur
I think Rosa Lee Brooks claims she wrote it with Jimi or something. Its clearly by Arthur though (with that business of the birthdays being on the same day) |

Just rereading this fantastic thread, very great. LK do you know what happened to rocker. He seemed to disappear. |

No, mk. Apart from the few regulars left like John9, Bobby Fisher, Joe, Dukie , Steve64 and a few others (forgive me for leaving any of you out) we sadly don't get many posters here anymore.
I long for the days when we were getting dozens of posts here every day, when this was one of the most popular forums I visited.
We got a huge drop off when the site went down for a number of months, and it seems most never came back.
Let's get some love back on the best Love site in the world.
