I've been thinking about this now and just wonder where perhaps Arthur and Love fit in with the rest of music's songwriters throughout its history. I note this because I'm a big fan of Lighfoot and Neil Young who throughout their long careers have consistently produced such a great library of songs for themselves and their listeners. They just seem to be song-writing geniuses. Some of their songs are absolutely so "perfect" and are here for all time.

Crosby didn't want to record "Goin Back" curiously.

Probably why the Byrds sacked him!

Their best song I think!

I think all the writers noted are so exceptional. They write songs that are so different and unique. And I have to plug into Arthur with "Alone Again Or"..what a haunting melody he developed there..you just wonder where that came from!

Goin Back...as time goes on it has great meaning. A song for all time and for all generations. I love that song.

Massey Hall is still around! Cool! It has been the showcase for the greatest....Neil Young at Massey Hall (1970?) on vinyl, I have, is brilliant.

I still listen to Lightfoot's "Don Quixote" LP....fantastic.

Let's include here....

Eric Andersen
Phil OCHS!!
Steve Winwood
Jack Bruce
Tim Hardin
Tim Buckley
Tom Rush
Tim Rose
David Ackles

Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake are right up there with the geniuses (Brian Wilson too, of course, even though he often uses others to put his ideas into lyrical form).
