I attended a Psychedelic Summer Of Love Tour show at the Universal Amphitheatre in January 1989, and I am looking for audio/video of any and all groups who performed that night.

My friends (The Trip) were the opening act. They were/are a retro-60's band. Got pretty good reviews, too!

Please PM or e-mail me if you should have anything from that tour...

Thanks!

I recorded the Universal Amphitheater show on 1-27-89. Besides Love, I recorded The Seeds, Big Brother and the Holding Company, The Music Machine, and The Strawberry Alarm Clock. I'm sorry, but I don't remember a band called The Trip. Love's set was

1. Alone Again Or
2. Signed D.C.
3. Little Red Book
4. Orange Skies
5. 7 and 7 Is
6. And More Again
7. Everybody's Gotta Live

"I read it in the Castle - it MUST be true!"

I like that

I know what you mean; say, didn't the Castle reprint the Psychedelic Psounds interview with Bryan? Is that lengthy (40 pages!)
interview on line does anyone know

Can't find Snoopy in Love online, sadly

Just another of the many reasons for Arthur/Love fans to be thankful about the publication of John's remarkable book; as fine a job as The Castle did in reprinting virtually everything published about Arthur and Love that could be found, it was still really little more than a reprint service, with no effort whatsoever made to vet the truth or actually fact check any of the information being reprinted within its pages. Hence the continued perpetuation of so many of the blatantly false myths that surrounded the band. Still, better to have had The Castle than not, aside from the fact that (as unbelievable as it
sounds) there actually are individuals out there who to this day, accept as truth or fact, each and every reprinted piece that they ever read in The Castle. It's the old, "I read it in The Castle; it must be true!" Oh well....

The Castle was a UK publication concerning Arthur Lee/Love/Bryan and anything to do with the group, really

David Housden also published "scrapbooks" that had clippings concerning Nick Drake, Gene Clark, etc

End of blatant plug!

I'm putting my *feelers* out, so I hope to come up with something, anything. Since Love's set was recorded, I'm hoping some of the other acts were, also. I've seen there are at least a couple of Love CDs available from this tour.

Thanks for the tip! The search continues!

Warren

yeah, it was a short set as I recall (if I recalling the correct gig on cd)

Remember it being reviewed in the Castle and it being a bad bootleg, what with the title of the bootleg written on the disc in marker!

so the gig might have been bootlegged. Good luck finding a copy!

Hi Bob,

Thanks so much for the links to the articles.

I had completely forgot about the other venues for the *Summer of Love* tour. I guess I'll be looking for ANYTHING from those shows, as well!

Thanks again,

Warren

Hi Joe,

I'm not familiar with the *Castle*.

If you have ANYTHING on this show, it would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks,
Warren

Don't know if there was mention of any video/audio. I probably have a cd of the show somewhere (have something like 100 live shows)

not a long Love set, I THINK
