Posted - 04/02/2013 : 18:24:05 A HUGE source of material for bootlegs has been "lost" video and music from the legendary "Let It Be" sessions.Just the discarded materials from this era alone would make one HELL of a COLLECTOR'S BOX SET!.There are probably also scores of rare or unseen Linda McCartney photos as well. |

Posted - 03/02/2013 : 03:21:05 the longer version of "Flying" I remember being on an Unsurpassed Masters release (on Yellow Dog)
Doesn't seem to add much to the song
As far as I know, the half hour outtake of Helter Skelter has failed to surface
Or Carnival of Light! |

I have several Beatles boots but I always find I only have "time" for the familiar...so I always turn to the "official releases"!
Magical Mystery Tour
Guess I gotta get this!
The Beatles are releasing a restored version of their classic 1967 film, Magical Mystery Tour. The film, written and directed by the band, has been long out of print, but will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. There's also a combined deluxe box set featuring both versions, along with a 60-page book and a reproduction of the mono double seven-inch vinyl EP containing the film's six Beatles songs: "Magical Mystery Tour," "The Fool On The Hill," "I Am The Walrus," "Flying," "Blue Jay Way" and "Your Mother Should Know." The EP was originally issued in the U.K. in 1967 to accompany the movie.
Magical Mystery Tour will be available October 8th (2012). Select movie theaters will screen the film starting September 27th. Listings will be available on the Beatles' website. -rollingstone

Posted - 02/02/2013 : 17:14:28 It's on some bootleg out there somewhere. There used to be a really great and literally underground bootleg shop on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge called "Second Coming Records".Be a great place to start looking if they're still around.I once bought a bootleg there called "Strawberry Fields Forever" which had a very interesting alternate take on the title tune plus another "lost gem" called "Indian Rope Trick(The Candle Burns" which is just a few quick minutes of "spooky" psychedelic vocalizations along with some really weird, bendy guitar plucks. This one is quite common in the Beatle Bootlegs world. |

The "FLYING" acid trip scene, and the wonderful beach romance scene is actually touching along with a classic Beatles tune.
Does anyone know what or where this NINE minute "complete" version of FLYING comes from? It equals Revolution 9 in length trippiness.
Or is some dude playing with us, and doing their own thing? Repeating this over and over?

Posted - 02/02/2013 : 16:35:17 No need for apologies anymore, really. As much a disaster as MMT was in '67,it has since redeemed itself as a legitimate "must see" for all interested in its generation's almost sardonically surreal world overview. This one is legendary for the "I Am The Walrus" sequence much like "Let It Be" boasted the immediately mega-famous rooftop concert. |

Hope its not just him apologizing
"I'm sorry about this - look, this was shown in black and white originally on Boxing Day and the scenery is actually quite grand.."

Posted - 31/01/2013 : 17:29:27 Apparently, there's a deluxe set including both dvd and blue ray versions of the movie PLUS the original English double EP set.I think it retails for about $80.Probably a really good book with it too. |
