Was I the only surprised person sat watching the Love Story film, when the footage of the original band miming outside to Red Book & Message To Pretty came on, as I'd never seen that before?! Point being, does someone have this in full so we can all see it???
Any news on when the Love Story film might finally be released on DVD?

No I remember JohnE, Gill and I mentioning this after the film was shown for the first time in London. We'd never seen this footage before either. |

The outdoor footage is from a US 60's TV show called 'Where The Action Is'.

There was also talk a whilst back of some unearthed footage of the original line-up playing a Californian TV show called the 'Kandy Klub'. Two tracks and a mini interview with Arthur.
Never released though (sigh) |

That was an April Fools joke in some fanzine. I lost the link, but I had some info on that.
I'm always on the look-out for more live LOVE. Let's set-up a trade!?! http://db.etree.org/razortotinjim |

I'm sure plenty of people besides me have that single. The recordings are a bit rough. Just demos actually, but a nice addition to any collection. Get yours here....... http://lovearthurlee.com/?page_id=8
MHM, Freak Emporium had that single in a 50% clearout sale a couple of weeks ago but had gone when I rang, I have however just got a copy from System Records at a pretty good price if you prefer ordering from a UK dealer, Johnny does a great guitar break in Stay Away that I wish had gone on longer, there's also a long interview with Johnny on the reverse side of the cover. The 45 has no middle, well mine didn't anyway, so that got me looking through old 45's for a snap in insert as my turntable needed one.
Systems Records link, they specialise in hard to find stuff: http://www.systemrecords.co.uk/leearthurstayaway7-p-908745.html |

Hi Mike,
I ordered & received the single from a very good seller on Ebay. It's pretty good. Very demo quality but interesting to get all the same, any ideas how much more of this stuff is in the archives?? Stay Away has more than a little passing resemblence to Hold Your Hand by the Beatles. The hand claps & final vocal phrase of the rotation but it's a great sort of period piece garage psych and You I'll Be Following, well, just great to hear another version of it from that era. If anything, you can hear more clearly the words Arthur is singing, although the backing is a little muddy. Any ideas on the recording? If it's on the back, I'll get around to reading it soon, I only had a brief glance at the notes on the tube the other night. Also, I don't recall any mention of the line-up that cut them. I know what the picture shows but is it the same as the band playing on both cuts??
And just to ask again, does ANYONE have the FILM of the band performing out doors?!? Or at least any news on if the Love Story film is EVER going to make it to DVD??
Best
Chris

My old boyfriend from back in the 60s sent me a couple of VHS tapes to watch, then send back to him. On these tapes, Arthur is playing and singing with a band whom I don't know. It appears to have been filmed in or around the 70s or 80s and there are also film clips of early days in it, including video footage of the origial band, Love.
Every once in a while between songs, an interviewer talks to Arthur in what looks like a back room of some sort and they discuss, 1st, "Alone Again Or" and how it was produced.
There is live concert footage and at the beginning of this concert, the camera shows a theater or large building with a large, modernist type fountain out front and it's dark outside.
Sometime in the film, they play Your Mind and We Belong Together, the same film as this clip on Youtube.

Does anyone know what this film is and if it's on DVD? I HAVE to have this. I was mesmerized beyond words when I saw it.

This footage is from a video from 1991 knows as the Iceworld. Every now and then a DVD with this footage pops up on eBay. Here's the tracklist:
LOVE and Arthur Lee Live & Docu 1991: with Arthur Lee Interviews &
1 > Alone again or 2 > 7&7 Is 3 > Orange Skies 4 > My Little Red Book 5 > Signed D.C. 6 > Hey Joe 7 > And More Again 8 > I.A.Caloca 9 > Somebody's Watching You 10>Everybody's Gotta Live
So yes, it is on DVD, great footage. |

Oh yea, it's a great lineup, for sure. I'm already keeping an eye out for anything on eBay with "Arthur Lee" in it. Hopefully, I'll find it.
Thanks for the info! |
