Vince Flaherty

Recorded 1965 at Goldstar Studios, Nashville West with the original lineup of the legendary band, Love. These are the only known recordings of the band playing with their first drummer Don Conka.

"We did a few sessions with 3 or 4 tunes a session, some of them grooves like we had already played at the Bido Litos - at the time when the band was changing its name from the Grass Roots. In those days, the "square" engineers didn't know what to make of us or how to record the sounds we wanted. Consequently the early recordings could have been a lot better to say the least. I wasn't satisfied at the time and put the tapes away. Now, with the advent of digital we're able to go back and fix some of the things that at the time seemed insurmountable. Even though we didn't get, in my opinion, a satisfactory take on those tunes and achieve the heights we did Live at the club, the tracks are a cool record of of a very tight unit, Bryan, Johnny, Kenny and Don - a very good Band - in my opinion, the best band line up of Love."
